The Bed & Breakfast Rooms, “Vine Cottage” and the “Hop Loft” are situated within the courtyard complex in the beautiful, unique surroundings of  our 11 acre working Vineyard, where there are still opportunities to see and hear wildlife and birds around you.  The seawall and beach are an easy walking distance away. Mersea Island, famous for its oysters, lies between the estuaries of the Blackwater and Colne rivers and is reached by a tidal causeway (this only usually floods for a short time on spring/high tides). It is an unspoilt area, a place set back in time, ideal for bird watching, walking or sailing. Try Cudmore Grove Country Park which has access to the beach. Mersea has several friendly local places to eat, including the well known Company Shed and conveniently placed on the Vineyard, the Courtyard Café which serves light lunches and scrumptious homemade cakes. Should you wish to explore further a field, Colchester is approximately 9 miles to the north; here you will find a Norman castle, museum, zoo and a varied selection of shops and restaurants. A further short drive away is Beth Chatto’s gardens, Dedham Vale, Constable Country and picturesque Maldon with its riverside promenade and Thames barges.

Bed & Breakfast Rooms

Mersea Island Vineyard offers a choice of two bedrooms (one double-bedded and one twin- bedded).  They are centrally heated and comfortably furnished and have en-suite facilities consisting of a shower, washbasin & toilet.   Tea & coffee making facilities as well as a colour television, clock radio and hair dryer are provided in each room.  The rooms are situated on the first floor (access gained by one set of stairs) and look out onto the Vineyard. A light breakfast is served in the room consisting of tea and coffee, fruit juice, croissants, fruit salad, yoghurt and cereal.

£80 per room per night

(maximum occupation of 2 persons per room)

Terms & conditions

1)       The room rate is £80 per room per night and includes continental breakfast, served in your room.

2)       No smoking allowed in any part of the buildings.

3)       Maximum occupation of 2 persons per room.

4)       The room rate is due for payment at the time of booking and includes a £30.00  non-refundable deposit.

5)       Cancellations of bookings will only be accepted up to 10 days prior to the booking date with a maximum refund of £50 per room per night.  No refund will be made after the 10^th day preceding the booking date.

6)       Guests are requested to book in between 2pm & 6pm and vacate their rooms by 10.00am on the day of their departure.

7)       Only the registered guests are allowed access to their rooms, access is strictly forbidden to all other persons.

8)       No pets of any type allowed.

There is a lounge with kitchen/dining area, 2 twin-bedded rooms and 1 double-bedded romm, all with en-suite shower rooms with wash basin & w.c.
The kitchen area is well equipped with a full size oven and dishwasher.
The lounge/dining area has a settee, armchairs, colour television, music centre, table and chairs.
