BOTTLE CONDITIONED BEERS |
ISLAND PALE ALE - 3.9% abv. A light golden bitter ale, based on our Yo Boy Bitter recipe, producing a deep hoppy flavour, with good bottle condition. Similar to an old fashioned Light Ale. |
| ISLAND GOLD - 4.5% abv. Made using Lager Malt and Hops especially chosen for a Lager/Pilsner style of ale. This beer is very refreshing and makes a great addition to Summer Barbeques and Parties. | |
| ISLAND SKIPPERS - 4.8 abv. 'Best' bitter in a bottle, dark amber in colour with a good malty flavour from different malts and a smooth bitterness from Fruggles hops. | |
| ISLAND MONKEYS - 4.5% abv. A strong Stout/Porter style with a good liquorice flavour, plenty of hops give a good bitter after taste. Our version of a well known Irish Ale. | |
|
ISLAND OYSTER - 5.1% abv. A new recipe for a traditional
Oyster Ale, using lots of oats, a mixture of light and dark malts, and a
small amount of Fuggles hops. The brew has local Mersea Island Oysters added
to it, giving it a distinct unique flavour. WARNING - It is widely believed that Oysters contain aphrodisiac properties. To ensure the best results we suggest that copious amounts of this ale should be consumed, only stopping when the oysters work or you fall over, rendering you completely incapable!!! |

CASK CONDITIONED BEERS |
YO BOY - 3.8% abv. A session bitter with great tastes of Maris Otter and Crystal malt combined with Fuggles, Challenger, Phoenix & Cascade hops giving a long lasting bitterness on the finish. |
| SKIPPERS - 4.8% abv. The 'best' bitter from Mersea Island, dark amber in colour with a good malty flavour from five different malts and a smooth bitterness from Fuggles hops. | |
| MERSEA MUD - 3.8% abv. Traditional mild at its best, dark coloured with chocolate and black malts. Fuggles hops give the beer its distinct flavours. | |
| MERSEA MONKEYS - 5.0% abv. A porter brewed by the Colchester CAMRA 'Monkeys' for the winter beer festivals. This beer has matured further in the casks and is now an excellent porter with deep lasting malt and hop flavours. | |
|
OYSTER - 5.0% abv. A new recipe for a traditional Oyster Ale,
using lots of oats, a mixture of light and dark malts and a small amount of
Fuggles hops. The brew has local Mersea Island Oysters added to it, giving
it a distinct unique flavour. Each cask has eight oysters added giving a 1 pint in 8 chance of the aphrodisiac properties of the oysters taking effect. |
